My seven year old loves jokes and joke books, so it was exciting when I got this book for free. The cost was too much though and even a seven year old found it boring. I was absolutely shocked to find a book labelled for kids to include a curse word (fecal explicative), in a knock knock joke no less. Beyond this the book was very poorly written, has no pictures and is just plain bad.Product details

I was sent a sample copy to review, and I read it from cover to cover. While many of the jokes are silly enough for children to enjoy, I was completely shocked to find some jokes that were clearly not for children. Two in particular were very offensive and one had a curse word in it.
Since this is an electronic book, I tried to contact the author to see if the offensive jokes could be removed or changed, but I did not get a reply. If a future edition omits these jokes, I would give it 5 stars, but any book specifically for kids needs to be 100% clean.
I had a hilarious fun time with this book. Actually, it says in the title that the jokes were for kids, mostly Knock-Knocks plus some bonus Yo Mama jokes. I wanted to read this to my kids, but we just read as far as Knock Knock jokes appeared. My boys chuckled a lot with the Knock-Knock, Who's There spiels that they actually memorized some of them and shared them with their friends. But with the Yo Mama jokes, they steered away. It was more of a thing for me than them anyway. Sometimes, I grin, smile and laugh with those "Yo Mama is so - - - , " but I have to admit, some jokes were a little offensive, especially to those readers who are kind of heavy on the side (like me). But still, I enjoyed them, they're just jokes, after all, and it helps to laugh out loud every once in a while. So far, this book entertained me!
Today we try to teach our children that bullying is not nice and in some cases is even illegal. This book promotes bullying with the mean spirited yo mama jokes.
Jokes that are mean and ugly have no place in a children's book. This is book disgusted me and left me feeling dirty. Do you really want your children or grandchildren spouting off such jokes as "yo mama was so ugly she...."?
Steve Evans needs to stick to the knock knock jokes. Those were good clean fun. The rest is offensive, garbage that belongs in the trash.
This book was provided to me for free in exchange for my honest opinion. My honest opinion is, save your money unless encouraging bullying and pointing out differences in others in a mean spirited way is what you teach your kids.

And I'm of two minds about this collection. But first, the jokes are funny. Yes, even though knock-knock jokes are, in my opinion, among the lowest form of humor, these were clever and there were quite a few I hadn't heard before. They are also kid-friendly, so the first half of this book can be considered family-appropriate.
But then the second half comes in, and what was a charming collection takes a 180 degree turn as the author starts Doing The Dozens on me. Fat momma jokes, stupid momma jokes, old momma jokes, ugly momma jokes...they are all in here. And I do have to say, if you are of that bent, these jokes are also pretty funny, but certainly not appropriate for the audience that was enjoying the first half of this collection.
So when you get right down to it, you have two joke collections here which are quite good on their own, but they make a very odd combination. And for that reason I have to be a little more harsh with the rating than I otherwise would have been. It's two separate collections aimed at two separate audiences getting jammed together, and it just didn't work for me. My advice is to seek out the two collections separately.
While I'm not personally wild about knock-knock jokes, some kids really like them and this book has tons. I was more enamored with the Yo Mama jokes, which I found to be quite funny and pretty comprehensive, without being crude. This book is a treasure trove of good clean fun.
